A Visit to the Place Formerly Known As the Staples Center

One of the places which I definitely wanted to see while out in the Los Angeles region was the place formerly known as the Staples Center, now known as the Crypto.com Arena.

Again, I will say that this just doesn't have quite the same ring to it. But I guess that is officially the new name of the place.

Of course, my coworker getting the playoff hockey tickets assured me of being able to see this arena. In fact, I would be able to see the inside of it.

Yet, one of the most interesting aspects of this place is what is on the outside of it. There are statues of some of the great players and legends of both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings. After all, both franchises call this place home.

One kind of strange aspect to this is the absence of any statues or championship banners for the other franchise that plays here, the Los Angeles Clippers. With so many damn banners for the Lakers, and quite a few also for the Kings, seeing almost literally nothing for the Clippers felt a little bit sad.

Still, the statues and championship banners were fascinating, particularly the statues. They had legends of the games and legendary moments that had taken place inside of this arena. Everyone knows that the Lakers are one of the most stories franchises in North American sports, and the Kings enjoyed some serious success, as well.

The arena itself is quite modern in appearance. It is large, although the seats felt tighter than most other arena seats which I have been to. But you get the sense that this place has become kind of legendary in it's own right.

Would have loved to have seen a Lakers game while out here, although the costs of that were quite prohibitive. Still, seeing the Kings in a playoff game was pretty exciting, as well.

Below are some of the pictures from my visit to the place formerly known as the Staples Center, and now known as Crypto.com Arena.
