Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral at Night

While I had seen Notre Dame Cathedral on both of my previous trips to Paris since the tragic fire,  making a point of it so that my son could see it,  the cathedral had still been closed both times.  This trip marked the first time since that it had been reopened.

Which also meant that it was the first time that it would be illuminated at night.  While I had gotten some decent pictures of the outside of Notre Dame Cathedral in those two previous trips to Paris, they were always day shots.

This time, I wanted to make sure to get some pictures of it lit up at night. It would be the first time in at least a quarter of a century that I would see it illuminated at night.

So on Thursday evening  I went to the Ile-de-la-Cite,  where the cathedral is located. It only gets dark quite late in Paris at this time of the year. It was well after 10 PM before it was mostly dark, and the famous floodlights of the "City of Light " could truly be appreciated.

Below are some of the pictures which I took of the beautiful Notre Dame de Paris lit up at night.

Enjoy.
