Stade de France in Saint Denis

This was the first time that I had been to the Stade de France since the day that France won the World Cup for the first time ever. I didn't attend that game, but my brother and I were in this stadium for the semifinal against Croatia. And that was probably the most exciting game that France played in of the entire tournament.

Now, more than a quarter of a century later, here I was again.

The Stade de France still looks modern and aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.

Most importantly, however, it evokes some great memories. Specifically, of course  of the 1998 World Cup. After all, my brother and I were in this specific stadium when it was still largely brand new, and showcasing the most popular event in sports across the world. Then, it was here just a few days after that when France stunned the defending world championship, Brazil, beating them,  3-0, to earn the first World Cup championship in the history of French football ⚽️.

So it was a big deal.

Plus, as mentioned earlier,  I always just liked the way that it looks. Futuristic, yet also pleasing to the eye.

And now, also historical.

Below are some of the pictures which I took of the Stade de France.

Enjoy.
