Man, I remember the Facts of Life!
Just in case you don't know, it was a popular show, a sitcom, from back in the eighties. The early eighties, I believe. And it really is nothing like today's sitcoms, let alone some of the raunchier shows and reality television that's common viewing these days.
This was about four academy girls living together, each with their own personality. There was Jo, the tomboy tough girl who was the oldest of the girls. There was Blair, the blonde princess. There was Natalie, who was always giddy, if memory serves me correctly. And finally, there was Tootie, the youngest of the bunch, and the most playful, generally speaking. All of them were under the umbrella of Mrs. Garrett, the older woman in charge of them all. I believe that she owned some kind of a shop or something, and they all pitched in.
In this article, they admit that this idea probably would not fly in today's television market, but things were different back then, and the show wound up being pretty big, and apparently, quite influential.
It was not my favorite sitcom from back in the early eighties (that would probably have been Three's Company, although the older I get, the more I appreciate Cheers as far as eighties sitcoms go), but I do remember watching it quite a bit, and enjoying it.
Apparently, they recently had a reunion!
