A Visit to Bay Head (Jersey Shore) on a Winter's Day

This weekend, my girlfriend and I went to a wedding.

It was for an old high school classmate of mine. He was getting married (for a second time), and they had arranged it to be at Bay Head, a town which I was unfamiliar with. In fact, to my knowledge, I had never been here before.

Yet, it was a nice town. It had a charming little downtown (by the clock pictured below, where the actual wedding ceremony took place).

There was also a bridge across a stream or small river, which also offered some nice views. Especially since the town was all decked out in holiday season lights.

Of course, since we were incredibly close to the Atlantic Ocean, I had to stop just for a little bit and catch a glimpse. Took some pictures, and there was something there which surprised me (see the description below).

A nice visit overall.

And the wedding was really cool. A small ceremony at an intimate setting, with a small group of people assembled. Afterwards, we all went to a nearby restaurant called Theresa's South. Having just seen the ocean, I wanted to get the seafood option (salmon).

A pleasant afternoon and evening, overall.

Below are some pictures, including of my girlfriend and I.

Enjoy.

The

Here was something which kind of shocked me. Those little black things in the water? Those were surfers. Yes, more than a week into December, in New Jersey. They were all wearing surfing suits, but still, the water had to have been seriously cold! Frankly, was not expecting anyone to actually be in the water, but there was something like eight to ten people (possibly even more) that I saw. Just not what I was expecting.

We parked next to a fence covered in holly, or mistletoe (can you tell that I hardly qualify as an expert?). It added to the Christmas feel, and I took probably too many pictures of this. But it was rather beautiful.
