Reykjavik: The Capþo⁶ Capital City of Iceland

Reykjavik was the final destination before leaving for the airport. I kind of figured that you never know when something unexpected will happen.

Surely, nobody on our plane could have known that we would cram into the plane on the hottest day of the year to date, then sit there unexpectedly for two hours

Yet, that is actually what really happened.

So despite being really tired, I went to Iceland's capital to explore some more.

Impressions?

It was far bigger than I had expected. Frankly, it felt closer to being a major city than I had admittedly expected it to be.

Also, it felt a lot younger than most European cities. Almost everything felt new. The exceptions almost proved the rule. Of course, much of what was built in Iceland was from wood, and wood generally does not last that long. So despite Iceland being relatively old, it nevertheless maintains a newer feel, which includes the capital city of Reykjavik.

Below are some pictures which I took.

Enjoy.
