Yet in exploring some about Iceland prior to this trip, I learned about one other thing found uniquely in Iceland: the horses.
The Vikings brought horses small enough to be able to fit on boats. Over time, they became their own unique breed of horses.
In addition to being smaller than most other horses, they also have very rich manes. They look spectacular.
