George Galloway MP Gives His Take on the Chilcot Report

I ran into this particular video yesterday, and thought it was worth sharing. This was the response to the Chilcot Report by George Galloway, who is a former Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom.

Galloway, to his credit, was opposed to the Iraq invasion. And here, despite some self-promoting (hey, he is a politician, after all), he nonetheless delivers a damning and powerful indictment for former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

He does not exactly beat around the bush (pardon the unintentional pun here) as he attacks Blair on the lying required to try and justify the Iraq war:

"Thus, when the agreement with George Bush, to follow him whatever - whatever the truth, whatever the cost, however many lies you had to tell. You are unmasked today as singularly responsible."

On the comments to this video, there were a lot of calls for Blair to be brought to justice in the Hague. One person made an interesting suggesting, that Blair's fortunes should be given to the women and children of Iraq, as some kind of compensation for the lives he helped to kill and/or ruin. It's not enough, surely. But let's add the fortunes of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Condoleeza Rice, and many of the idiotic major media personalities who also were pining for the war, particularly Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, and Bill O'Reilly. Let's add the Clintons to that list, while we're at it.

Watch this video, and listen to his rationale on this subject. He makes a strong case for why action against Blair, even if it comes late, would nonetheless be important, even urgent, for Britain.

And on a lighter note, if you're like me, you will appreciate his thick Scottish brogue.
