Tomorrow is Ringo Starr's birthday, and it has become an annual tradition to celebrate it, because Ringo makes a point of making it fun, idealistic and even thoughtful. So, that tradition will continue tomorrow, with another blog entry dedicated to honoring his birthday.

That said, it should be noted that today, July 6th, is also an important date in Beatles history. You see, it was on this day in 1957 - almost 60 years ago now! - that John Lennon and Paul McCartney first met.

It was an uncharacteristically hot and humid day in Liverpool when the two met, and there was a measure of competitiveness, as well as mutual respect, already on that first meeting.

Obviously, the two would go on to collaborate together musically, and eventually, they would change music history!

Just a tiny bit of music history particularly pertinent to the Beatles on this day in history.
