International Chocolate Day is Today

Just thought that I would mention that this day in history is not just sweet for Ringo, but also happens to be the anniversary of when Europeans first found out about chocolate.

Originally, it was grown by the Aztecs, and used primarily as a drink. Allegedly, Montezuma could consume up to 50 cups a day!

And it was on this day in 1550 that chocolate was first brought to Europe. Obviously, they liked it. It has become very much a staple of our culture since, and is consumed throughout the world these days.

Today, let us mark the anniversary of chocolate in our global culture.
