Temple Of The Dog Reunion in the Works?

In the early 1990's, both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden exploded into popularity, dominating radio waves and with videos on frequent play list on MTV. Among the very, very most popular videos that the two bands were involved with was a joint project between the two bands, which has since become a fairly regular staple in the setlist of artists from both bands.

The video was for "Hunger Strike," which was a powerful protest song, and it was officially done by Temple of the Dog, a musical project that took the music that Chris Cornell wrote and made a full album as a tribute to the late Andy Wood, who had just died of an overdose, just as his own musical career was about to take off (presumably).

That album, and particularly "Hunger Strike," which easily became the most instantly recognizable song on the album and was a huge hit that surely helped the careers of all the musicians involved in the project, was nonetheless seen as a one time thing. After all, Cornell had written that music for a special reason, and both bands seemed to be doing well on their own anyway. True, their have been some brief reunions of Temple of the Dog since, but they basically played the old songs, and were not trying to write anything new together.

However, there has been growing speculation about the possibility that it might happen again. And if Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has his way, it will.

According to McCready, he would reunite everyone involved in Temple of the Dog in a heartbeat. He was not sure if they should get together for another album, or perhaps just some kind of reunion on stage, or what. But McCready feels that something should be done to honor the 25th anniversary of the release of that historic album.

As for us fans, we can only hope that they decided to go ahead and do something like this. It would be especially cool if they got together for an entire album once again. How interesting would it be to hear an album from these guys presently and contrast it to the album from a quarter of a century ago!

I'd be up for it! Anyone else?
