The Significance of a Name: Kimmel Asks the Difference Between Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act

Well, it's funny that I just posted a link to an article that hinted at the significance of a name have certain connotations, negative or positive.

In this rather hilarious piece, Jimmy Kimmel asked people on the streets which they preferred: Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act?

There is one problem with the various answers (hint: Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are just different names for the same thing).

Click on this link and watch this short clip. Some people appear to be getting rather heated when they discuss Obamacare, particularly when asked if it leans towards socialism.

It seems to me that people have been so brainwashed into thinking that President Obama, and anything associated with him, automatically amounts to socialism. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Obama is hardly a socialist. In fact, the level to which he caters to corporate interests and very wealthy, privileged, and famous clientele is something that I find rather alarming, but for reasons obviously very separate from any half-baked notions of socialism. Far too many people simply believe what they want to believe, and never challenge themselves to delve any deeper.

This is one illustration about the flimsy political knowledge, or perhaps rather the downright ignorance, of far too many Americans - which unfortunately, is hardly a joke. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
