Over the weekend, we here in the east coast got hit with a pretty major snowstorm, and it was surprisingly strong.
Here in New Jersey, the amounts varied. In southern New Jersey, the storm was more serious, knocking out power and accumulating more than what we in northern and central New Jersey received.
In Hillsborough, where I live, we got maybe around six inches or so, it seemed.
Farther north and west, where they usually get more snow because of the higher altitudes, they did not get as much.
Yet, the storm hit all over in the east, from, as I understand it, Texas, throughout the rest of the South, and all the way through the mid-Atlantic states, and even much of New England. So, it was a big storm, and it came earlier than most snowstorms of recent winters came.
However, it was nothing like a recent snowstorm that some parts of Alaska saw. There was one snowstorm there earlier this month where they got 10 inches per hour!
So, if you think that you got hit badly, or are sick and tired of the cold weather and the inclimate weather, at least be thankful that you were not hit by a major storm of epic proportions quite like that one!
Stunning!
Here is the article where I heard about that Alaskan storm:
Alaska just reported one of the most extreme snowfall rates on record: 10 inches per hour By John Hopewell December 7, 2017:
