PSG earned a convincing and important win this weekend over Strasbourg.

Not surprisingly, French superstar Kylian Mbappé got things going, scoring the game's first goal in the 16th minute and giving PSG the early lead.

Next, Pablo Sarabia struck in the 27th minute. Moise Kean gave PSG another goal very late in the first half in the 45th. Suddenly, PSG was up by a comfortable 3-0 margin at halftime.

Moïse Dion Sahi in the 63rd minute for Strasbourg, making a game of it again, keeping Strasbourg’s flickering hopes alive.

Then, however, Leandro Paredes put the final nail in the coffing in the 79th minute, giving the game it’s final score of 4-1.

With this win, PSG now has earned 66 points in 32 games played . They are ahead of third place Monaco by one point, and fourth place Lyon by two points. However, they still trail first place Lille by three points, as Lille also won to stay atop the standings.

  1. If they can seal the deal by eliminating Bayern from the Champions League tomorrow, they'll be in an enviable position: playing in the semifinal round after having gotten past Barcelona and Bayern, and still very much in the running in Ligue 1, despite their inconsistency there. If PSG actually starts to play like PSG in Ligue 1 again, they'd be capable of winning all of their remaining games in the championnat, which could very well be the decider in the event that Lille fails to do the same. We'll see. To be honest with you though, I'm far more interested in the Champions League at this point. PSG has won Ligue 1 many times in the past, and it's safe to say they'll win it again in the near future, even if they fail to do so this year. Winning the Champions League, however, would truly be a MAJOR milestone in the club's history, and quite possibly usher in a new era for French clubs in European competitions, namely the Champions League and the Europa League. Stay tuned...
