If this is true, it's just ridiculous.
Italian star Mario Balotelli apparently got a tattoo of the words from Genghis Khan, stating that he is a punishment of God.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this kind of thing, but this seems to me exactly the kind of example of an athlete with a false sense of entitlement taking himself way too seriously, and putting this false sense of immortality and divinity on prominent display, in such a way that it is going to turn off some otherwise potential fans (myself included).
