Sudan's Pyramids

Have to admit, I was not really familiar with the pyramids of Sudan before these two articles.

But they look really cool, and it is a fascinating story behind them, as well!

Had anyone out there heard of these pyramids before? There are quite a few of them, all in a quite small area. I know that Sudan has seen some political trouble in recent decades, but this looks like a world treasure that remains largely hidden and obscure.
