Indianapolis (5-3) at Tennessee (6-2)
A lot of these Thursday Night Football games feel like they are entirely irrelevant, pitting two lowly teams against one another, perhaps just to showcase some teams that otherwise would never get the national television spotlight. Not this week, however. This is a battle between the two top teams in the AFC South, and it is for nothing less than first place in the division. The Titans started the season off red hot at 5-0, and with a win last week, coupled with a Colts loss, Tennessee enters this game alone atop the AFC South standings with a 6-2 record. The Colts have looked impressive in an up and down season thus far, but they have a chance to win here and at least once again gain a share in first place, and a key divisional win on the road against the first place Titans. So, this game is huge. Tennessee has a pretty decent offense, but they will be going up against one of the toughest defenses in the league, as the Colts have proven very tough for opposing defenses this season. Head coach Frank Reich appears to have his team heading in the right direction, although they have to avoid a late season collapse, like the one they had this season. Winning in Tennessee is not easy for road teams, but a physical approach for Indy the Colts will give them a chance in this one. For me, it feels like this game could go either way. But if I have to pick in a tight contest, it would be hard to pick against the home team.
My pick: Tennessee
