For the first time in my life, I participated in early voting yesterday.
Election Day is next week on Tuesday, of course. Yet on that day, I intended to head off towards my mom's place in upstate New York right after getting off from work in the morning. But since it is Election Day, and I am absolutely determined to do my part and vote, it seemed like a good idea to see if I could vote early.
After doing a bit of research, there really was nothing specifying any special conditions or requirements when I looked. So I took the chance and went to my town's municipal building, and found the place to vote.
Sure enough, I got to vote. Nothing special was required, it was pretty much just like showing up on Election Day itself.
And I voted.
They were even giving out stickers once you were done (see the picture above). It was only the second time that I got a sticker after voting.
Whether or not you participate in early voting, or mail-in voting, or intend to do it the traditional way by going on Election Day, I urge you to go out the vote this year. It feels like there is far more riding on this election than most, also please, please go out and make your voice hear.
