2013-14 NFL Championship Game Weekend Predictions

Okay, so we're down to two more games before the big one at the Meadowlands! That will be the first ever cold weather Super Bowl in history.

But first, these games being played tomorrow will determine who will make it there!

So, here are my predictions for who's going to play there:

AFC Championship Game

New England Patriots at Denver Broncos

This one is really tough game to forecast. They both are very talented, and both just seem to know how to win. But they can't both win. New England as superior playoff experience. But the Broncos have better talent on offense, and their defense played very well last weekend. Belichek and Brady just seem to know how to get things done. They are in every game. And I would expect that they will be in this one, too. Both teams will score points, of that I am sure. But I think that Denver having home field advantage should play a factor. The fans will be loud, the air will be thin, and the Broncos just might be overwhelming, if everything clicks. They are obviously fired up, having prepared for this precise opportunity since the moment they lost to the Ravens last season. The Broncos desperately want to erase that memory, and the best (and only) way to do it is by winning. New England is a very, very tough team, obviously. They just know what they are doing, know how to give themselves opportunities to win games that they have no business winning. But, I am going to take Denver, with Manning and company doing just enough to win it, and earn their ticket to the Super Bowl.

Prediction: Denver wins by less than a touchdown.

NFC Championship Game

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

This one is a really tough game to forecast, too. I think the 49ers have the momentum, having won two games on the road in the playoffs, and having won the last meeting between these two clubs. But Seattle has home field advantage, and that is not just some minor factor with the these guys. Experience is definitely in favor of San Francisco, and the challenge for them will be to exploit Seattle's few weaknesses, and create chances for themselves. The Seahawks have a tough defense, but sometimes, they take too many chances. Also, Seattle's offense, while they can be spectacular sometimes, can also be limited under other circumstances, and you can bet San Fran's defense will give them a hard time. The Niners offense is starting to click, and earn that badge of unpredictability. It pains me to say this, but I have to think the 49ers have a very good chance at prevailing. But Seattle had an awesome season, and they are not exactly going to simply give it up easily, either. If the Niners give up a big lead in this Championship game like they did to Atlanta last year, don't expect them to come back. My expectations are that the "12th Man" of Seattle will help their team along to a victory, for only their second Super Bowl ever.

Prediction: Seattle wins by maybe a touchdown.
