I know that I've written about this subject quite a bit (and I'm not even remotely a pothead!), but it just seems so encouraging that the tide is finally turning.
There are just so many positives about it, which I have covered in quite a few previous blog entries, that it seems the end result of total legalization is inevitable, even though it will likely take quite a bit of time.
One reason it will take a lot of time? Political pundits who continue to demonize marijuana, using the same old clichéd (and mostly disproven) arguments, because they are so paranoid of change. Either that, or they are being paid by the industries that feel most threatened by the prospect of marijuana legalization, such as the tobacco industry, the alcohol industry, the paper industry.
Somehow, using a rationale that only he seems to understand, O'Reilly associates pot smoking with the obsession with the internet and texting, which he calls the "Texting-Industrial Complex". He claimed that pot use is "literally Russian Routlette".
John Stewart responded, pointing out the obvious hypocrisies in O'Reilly's line of thinking:
“I think the only difference between a bong hit and pointing a loaded gun at your own skull is that the gun can kill you instantly, and must never be criminalized or restricted in any way ever.”
Here is the link to Jon Stewart's reaction to what Bill O'Reilly has to say about pot:

And here are links to a different, but obviously associated, story, which reveals that a majority of Americans - even a strong majority - now favor ending prohibition, and going ahead with legalization (finally):
