Preview of Thursday Night Football Week 6 - Philadelphia at Carolina

Okay, so I make the rest of the predictions for the upcoming week in the NFL later, but since there is a game today, let me make the prediction for that one now:

Philadelphia Eagles (4-1)

at

Carolina Panthers (4-1)

Philadelphia at Carolina - Tough game! Both of these teams are hot at 4-1, and both lead their respective divisions. Carolina looks to be competitive again, and have amassed an impressive record under adverse conditions, winning tough games, such as the one they won up at Foxboro a couple of weeks ago, while adjusting to injuries and other challenges. In the meantime, the Eagles, too, have surprised a lot of people with just how sharp they have looked thus far. Philly has continually managed to surprise people, and they looked sharpest just days ago, in dismantling the Cardinals. However, this is a trip on the road to Carolina for them, and that offers some serious challenge. The Panthers have been winning, but they have not been doing so by blowing people away. Other than their opening weekend win against San Francisco, in fact, Carolina has won those three other games by a combined 12 points. That tells me that they know how to win the close games, and will not be derailed if the Eagles keep it close and put the pressure on. That, plus the unpredictability with Newton at quarterback, as well as home field advantage, leads me to believe that the Panthers should be able to take this one. My pick: Carolina
