Not too long ago, I posted something about how punk legend Jello Biafra and his latest band, the Guantanamo School of Medicine, are working on material for a new album to be released later this year. Most likely, barring any unforeseen circumstances (this is 2020, after all, so this is relevant), the album is slated to be released this autumn.
Well, they released the first song as a preview of what we can look forward to. Just days ago, on July 3rd, they released the new song on the Alternative Tentacles Youtube channel. Alternative Tentacles is, of course, the record label that Jello set up back in the days when he was still the frontman for the Dead Kennedys.

The new song’s title is TALIBAN USA, and the video is filled with imagery of the paradoxes and absurdities of American politics in the present age.
Now admittedly, I often have difficulty deciphering lyrics, at least after the first or second listen. This has admittedly been a limitation of mine from the first, and I have gotten more than my share of lyrics wrong over the course of many years. But one thing that can be said with absolute certainty: Jello Biafra will certainly have some things to say about American politics today, and he will not be shy about it. Most likely, the lyrics will be as thought-provoking as they have been in the past.
It is worth a listen or two. So it seemed like a good idea to share the video here, just in case any readers or fans (or anyone else who is just curious) wants to go ahead and open the link, and take a listen:
