It really is amazing how some people will convince themselves of anything if they really want to believe it enough. Nothing can dissuade them from believing what they want to believe, even when evidence and facts are not in their favor.
Here we are, over half a year after the 2020 election. Joe Biden has been president for over 100 days as I write this, a landmark that he just recently reached. Biden won the majority of battleground states, and he won a vast majority of the Elector College votes. Plus, he received defeated well over 81 million votes, or over 51 percent of the vote, to over 74 million votes, or just shy of 47 percent, for Trump.
By any measure, this election was decided in a non-controversial manner. Biden won it, and won it in a clear and decisive way.
Now skeptics like me might make the argument that Trump and his allies knew that he was going to lose. That is why they made preposterous claims, like there was no way that they could lose the election unless there was massive voter fraud, something that disregarded facts, but fired up their base, predictably. Trump and his cronies also tried to push the election back. They tried to get rid of mail-in voting, even though it is entirely lawful, and even though 2020 was the year of the pandemic, and even though Trump himself voted via mail-in voting. Then, Trump declared victory on election night itself, even when all of the votes were not even close to being counted. Then he challenged the outcome in the courts, or at least claimed to, even though his legal team actually took pains to make clear in the courtroom that their case was not about massive voter fraud (even while they told the cameras and their supporters otherwise outside of the court rooms). Then, there was the storming of the Capitol building, when it seemed that democracy itself was being subverted for one perverse man’s MAGAlomania.
In an act of rather astonishing - yet predictable in Trump’s case – pettiness, Trump refused to be present for Biden’s inauguration, going off to Mar-a-Lago in Florida well before Biden was to take the Oath of Office.
At every turn, Trump did everything possible to undermine public faith in the elections, right to his last minutes in office. And he did not stop then.
Nor has he stopped even now. Despite never having offered a shred of proof, he keeps claiming that he was cheated in the 2020 election. He is still claiming – again without any basis in fact – that “they” (who are “they” anyway?) are going to find proof positive of massive voter fraud. As if all of this time would not have given “them” plenty of opportunities to begin with.
These days, Trump speaks regularly, every night, to tens of supporters, going on and on about how he was cheated out of the 2020 election. Again, with no basis in fact. And his supporters are empowering him, believing only him, and ignoring the overwhelming evidence and facts that contradict him. Just as they always have in the past when it comes to Trump.
Remember when all of those Trump supporters demanded that Trump haters get over the fact that Clinton lost in 2016?
It’s time for them to take their own advice, and shut up.
He lost. He’s a loser, and so are you if you still listen to and believe in his constant, incessant whining and self-victimization.
Get over it, snowflakes!
Here is the link to the article that got me on this topic. I have always known that Trump only claims to be a great winner, when in fact, he is a loser. The country lost, and is much worse off, for Trump having been elected as the political leader. We have 25 percent more debt than we did before he came to power (yes, he added 25 percent in just those four short years in office!), our environmental standards are worse, the economic gap between rich and poor is greater than ever, the nation's reputation around the world is lower than it has ever been in my lifetime, and the country is more divided than it has ever been in recent history. So yes, we lost some things because Trump was elected into the White House, and he is still trying to drag the country down with him. Let's put this freaking loser behind us once and for all:

Anybody who thinks Trump and his allies are sitting on compelling evidence to substantiate their claims that he was cheated out of the election – the proverbial "smoking gun" – is an imbecile. And that's putting it mildly. Of course, therein lies the rub – Trump supporters as a rule are imbeciles blindly accepting anything he says as the irrefutable truth, and anything that contradicts that as "fake news". Then they wonder why nobody with an IQ above room temperature ever takes them seriously. From the looks of it, Cheeto Jesus (Meghan McCain's hilarious nickname for him) is going to continue being the de facto leader of the Republicans for the foreseeable future. Here's hoping that continues to blow up in their faces.
