⚽️ ⚽️ PSG Blanked on the Road in Manchester City, KO'd Out of UEFA Tournament ⚽️ ⚽️

       ⚽️ ⚽️ Paris Saint-Germain   ⚽️  ⚽️

It is strange to post a blog entry about a very humbling and very final disappointment for PSG, as many, if not even most, of my blog entries about them have been positive. However, PSG suffered a demoralizing second half collapse and eventual home defeat to Manchester City in the first game of the UEFA Semifinals last week.

The second game to be played in Manchester City was played earlier today. My brother had posted a comment saying that the team was not discouraged, but was in fact fired up.

However, they suffered a convincing defeat on the road in Britain, and did not even manage to score a single goal in the game. In the two games combined, in fact, they were outscored, 4-1.

In this game, one man in particular proved to be a killer for PSG. Riyad Mahrez scored in the 11th minute, giving Manchester City the early 1-0 lead, which is how it stayed for the rest of the first half. In the second half, Mahrez found the back of the net again, this time in the 63rd minute, giving Manchester City a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Manchester City held PSG off the rest of the way, securing the win and earning their first ever appearance in a UEFA Final.

As for PSG, they will not be making a second consecutive UEFA Finals appearance, despite having enjoyed a tremendous and encouraging tournament before being blasted out by Manchester City. In fact, I had been hoping that they would prove good enough to win it all.

Unfortunately, it will have to wait until at least another year. It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can win their first ever UEFA title.
