Dolly Parton seems to have become the kind of person where, when you hear something about her, it is hard not to be impressed. She is a big star, and has been since I was a kid. Back then, it seemed that everyone kept joking about her big boobs, which seemed to undermine her credibility. If that is the case, then it must also be true that she seems to have done enough now in recent years to look like the ideal kind of celebrity, if there is such a thing.
Indeed, although I am not a huge fan of celebrities, or celebrity culture more generally, there are some who I am far more impressed with than others. These days, Dolly Parton certainly ranks among those who I have actually been quite impressed with.
Parton recently released a rock album, even though she is generally more famous as a country music star. In this rock album, she recruited the help of the two surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. It is strange to think that, in 2023, Ringo and Paul are both featured on a new rock album, which amounts almost to a reuniting of sorts. Well, Parton made it happen, which is really cool.
