For First Time Ever, Nigel Farage’s Reform Party Now Leads in Recent Poll in the United Kingdom

A new poll out shows that Nigel Farage’s right-wing Reform UK Party now ranks as the most popular political party in the United Kingdom. It is one point higher than the governing Labour Party. It is also higher than the Conservative Party, which until recently ruled for 14 years, but which has been plagued with scandals that have compromised it's popularity, in turn helping Farage's Reform UK Party.

The poll came out yesterday (February 3rd) and was conducted by YouGov for The Times newspaper. The Reform UK Party emphasizes trying to “freeze immigration” to the United Kingdom, but was seen as too extremist by many. However, this is the first time that the party has taken a lead in a major public opinion survey. It garnered 25 % support, which is one point higher than the 24% for the ruling Labour Party of Keir Starmer. The Conservatives received 21% support.

Farage has show support for the presidency and policies of Donald Trump. This rise of populism really does appear to be a global phenomenon. Farage has been shouting to anyone who will hear him that the British demand reform. It appears that this message is beginning to resonate with the British.
