Luke Skywalker Actor Mark Hamill Once Burned Ivanka Trump After She Made a Lame Star Wars Reference

Sometimes, people you admired as really cool, or even heroes, when younger turn out to be much less admirable in the more sober light of the years. You find out certain things about them, and from that point onward, it is difficult to get past it.

One example like this for me would be Gene Simmons. While I was never a huge fan of KISS, or a member of the KISS Army or anything, nevertheless their antics seemed appealing to me as a kid. I still liked them as a teenager and as a young man, culminating in my brother and I attending a concert with the original lineup at MSG in the summer of 1996. Then a few years later, I heard more and more about the transparent and apparently shameless greed of Gene Simmons. And the stories just kept on coming. Eventually, I just could not stomach listening to their music anymore, mostly because it reminded me of what an apparent colossal prick Simmons turned out to be.

Ditto with John Lydon, also known as "Johnny Rotten," the frontman for the legendary British punk band Sex Pistols. He had my respect for a long time, but then I heard more about him. This came to a head when I heard that he had become a Trump supporter, and then expressing admiration for the Queen - the same Queen he had insulted in the most iconic song for the Pistols - a few years ago. He became the kind of guy where the more I heard about him, the less I wanted to hear about him. You know the type?

Then, there are some people where, if anything, your admiration for them grows over time. This has been the case for me with the three major actors of the original Star Wars trilogy - Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill.

In the case of Hamill, he has been particularly outspoken against the whole Trump Cult 45 (and now 47) MAGA thing.

Not sure how I missed this one, but a few years ago, Hamill hilariously burned Ivanka Trump after she made a Star Wars reference. Ivanka had tweeted a picture of her husband and children with a ton of Star Wars toys and such and captioned with "The Force is strong in my family."

Hamill responded, betraying his strong sense of humor. He tweeted back at her: "You misspelled 'Fraud.'"

As the cherry on top, he added a #GoForceYourself after that.

Too funny:
