After much speculation about the possibility of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce possibly retiring at this season's end, the mystery is over. Kelce made clear on Monday during the Super Bowl media event that he intends to return for at least one more season whether or not the Chiefs managed to  beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl later today.

Kelce expanded his thinking:

"I've got a full heart of football left in me,'' Kelce explained, as shared by Adam Teicher of ESPN. "I really love this game and I think throughout the year it can get pretty tough. But it's moments like these, the playoffs, these memories that I'll have with the teammates and coaches that I go to war with...wanting to keep that legacy or keep finding new ways to create those memories I think will, I don't know, just keep fueling me and my love for football.''

Last year, Kelce admitted that he had thought about retirement "more than anyone could ever imagine," in large part due to injuries and the physical strain that the sport has on players.

Still, Kelce is a 35-year-old who feels that he still has something to give, and something to play for. He made clear in the past that he intends has to pursue as many championship rings as he can while the window of opportunity remains open for him to do so.
