Today - February 28, 2025 - Marks the Day For the Economic Boycott

Today, there is an economic boycott  that will hopefully make a powerful statement.

What is the purpose?

Well, according to an article by Anne D'Innocenzio & Haleluya Hadero of the Associated Press (see the link below):

A grassroots organization is encouraging U.S. residents not to spend any money Friday as an act of “economic resistance” to protest what the group’s founder sees as the malign influence of billionaires, big corporations and both major political parties on the lives of working Americans.

Unfortunately, I realized too late that I will need to break the boycott on one small level. I forgot to get gas, and my car is running a bit low. So I will have to buy a bit of gas, and also likely use a credit card to do it, since I do not have enough cash.

It annoys me that I forgot, because this boycott was known about for some time now. Originally, I had intended to fill up on gas beforehand and, indeed, go the entire day without making any purchases through credit cards, including gas and especially the big stores like Walmart, Target, or Amazon.

That much I will promise to avoid. I will bot get any goods from any of those three places today. Also, I will not get any fast food, nor anything from General Mills or Nestle. I already have been boycotting Nestle products for a number of years, actually, ever since i heard about their water scam out in the Western United States, and heard the CEO saying, with a straight face, that it is an extremist thought to believe that people are entitled to water.

Indeed, this corporate dominance of the United States, which is seeing extreme political expression lately - of which Elon Musk is only the most blatant and visible individual representative of it - feels like it went too far a long, long time ago. But with the election of Donald Trump to a second term, it really has spiraled entirely out of control.

Time to speak the only language that they ever show fluency in: with our money. We need to hit them where it clearly hurts them the most: in their wallets.

Please participate in the boycott, and I will make sure to have more complete participation for the next one scheduled on March 28th.
