Snow Day #2

Much like was the case yesterday,  the internet is still down. I am using my phone,  but cannot really do much in the way of typing this morning.

The total snow amounts from this storm appear to be much higher than originally forecast. Here in Hillsborough,  it was almost to my thighs. We surely got over two feet of snow.

Not looking forward to digging out.

If you also got hit with the white stuff,  how much did you get?

By tonight,  I expect things to be restored to normal. In the meantime,  still no internet or cable,  and I am not sure if I will even be able to watch the championship games later on.

  1. You'd be welcome to watch those games here if you like. I don't know how the roads are (haven't driven anywhere since I got home Friday), and that may or may not be feasible for you if you have to work afterwards, but my TV service hasn't been affected, luckily enough.

  2. If you decide to do that though, bring a sweatshirt. The heat here is so-so; I've got to talk to the super about that actually.

  3. Oh, one last thing - you'd probably have to park in the public lot on your left-hand side right as you get onto Roseland Ave from Bloomfield Ave. Not sure how much they charge; I'm guessing it's not much. I could take care of that.

  4. Hey, Just woke up from a nap. The internet and cable were restored shortly after I dug the two cars out (mine and hers), almost like some reward. And sure enough, I am watching the AFC title game right now, with Denver up, 14-9. Go Broncos!

  5. Also, not sure how then roads are just yet. When I went out there this morning, the roads (at least the local ones), looked rough, although I am sure the major arteries are better. I have to work later tonight, so will have to drive a bit later. But this still probably is not the most conducive day for driving.

  6. Right I don't blame you. I got quite a workout digging myself out too. I guess we were about due for a major snowstorm though hopefully now we get a break for a while. Oddly enough Denver doesn't seem to have an inch of snow on the ground, and their weather forecast for the upcoming week seems pretty mild.

  7. I have heard it said of Denver winters that they could have a major snowstorm one day, and then it is 70 degrees and sunny the next - quite literally! Denver and that region get more sunshine days than California (remember how close it is to the southwestern desert), and so although they do get a lot of snow, they also get a lot of mild days to compensate. Very strange weather out there, but it is supposed to be one of the major attractions for people there. Wish I had made it out to Denver on the trip out west, although I aim to make it there in the near future.
