Pastor Darrell Scott Praises Trump as "The Most Pro-Black President" That He's Seen

Sometimes, you head something so unbelievable, that it is truly staggering and boggles the imagination.

Recently, Pastor Darrell Scott, a co-founder of the New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, as well as a co-founder of President Trump’s National Diversity Coalition, said something that is just incredibly baffling. In a meeting with leaders in faith, he suggested that President Trump is “the most pro-black president” in his lifetime.

Here, specifically, is what he said, for greater clarity:

"This is probably the most pro-active administration regarding urban America and the faith-based community in my lifetime," Scott said, according to a White House transcript of the meeting. "This president actually wants to prove something to our community, our faith-based community and our ethnic community,” he added. “This is probably going to be ... the most pro-black president I’ve seen in my lifetime.”

Wow. Think about Trump's questioning how it was not mostly blacks who were on welfare, or suggesting that blacks have nothing to lose by voting for him in the 2016 election. Or think about how Trump referred to African nations and Haiti as "shithole nations." Or think about how he seemed so reluctant to criticize white-supremacists and neo-Nazis, suggesting that there were some "good people" within their ranks.

Think about all of the other signs clearly pointing to this being a very prejudiced, narrow-minded "leader." Remember that he kicked off his campaign by sounding off against immigrants b suggesting that Mexicans were criminals and rapists. He wanted to set up a national registry of all people of Muslim faith.

Since Trump's rise during the presidential elections and beyond, there has been a wave of transparent signs of hatred and bigotry. White supremacists groups in particular feel that in Trump, they have their champion. White nationalists like Richard Spencer, and former Ku Klux Klan head David Duke felt that Trump's victory was their victory.

The country is divided more than we have seen it since at least the 1960's, and President Trump is actively fomenting that division and hatred. It existed before, to be sure. But Trump has taken advantage of these passions and divided the nation to serve his own narrow purposes. Even many of his political allies have suggested that much of his behavior is, at best, not helpful.

And yet, Pastor Scott somehow feels that Trump is "the most pro-black president" that he has ever seen!

You cannot make this stuff up. Sometimes, truth is indeed stranger than fiction!
