Today, marijuana became legalized throughout Canada.
Our neighbors to the north, already far more relaxed about things than us uptight Americans, are growing more relaxed, seemingly.
I am not, and never was, a pothead at any point in my life. That said, lifting the prohibition against marijuana was long overdue, as it is a better alternative for paper, for clothes, for smokes, and even, apparently, for medicine, than what we generally have available.
Of course, that meant that a lot of industries with money to spare were vehemently opposed to legalization, and that spirit won the day for decades. But that momentum is beginning to turn, both here in the United States, as well as the world, particularly the western world, more generally.
Legalization is the wave of the future. I applaud Canada's decision to lift the ban on marijuana, and legalize what has always been a completely natural product.
