Not that long ago, I had a coworker who claims to know quite a bit about baseball, and he was saying that the Boston Red Sox had no real chance in the ALCS against the Astros, because too many runs were being scored in the games in this series, and the Bosox surely would not be able to keep up. Surprisingly, he said this when Boston was leading the series, 2 games to 1.
Well, the Sox won the next game, and last night, they won Game 5, to clinch the series by a decisive 4 games to 1.
The Red Sox now move on to the World Series, their fourth appearance in 15 years. They won each of the previous series, and will look for their fourth title during that span.
