🏈 Odell Beckham Joins the Rams For Rest of 2021-22 Season 🏈

🏈🏈🏈🏈

Yesterday, I posted a blog entry about how Odell Beckham Jr. was considering three teams to play for the duration of the current NFL season. They were the Chiefs, the Packers, or the Saints, all of whom look like legitimate playoff contenders to this point in the season.

Well as it turns out, he signed with none of those teams. Instead, he agreed to terms for this season with the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams, of course, are themselves a serious looking contender. They have the league's top rated defense, and currently sport an impressive 7-2 record on the season, which is tied with several other teams for second best record in the league at the moment. Plus, the Rams have some real playoff experience, having reach the Super Bowl just three seasons ago, although they ultimately lost that one to the New England Patriots in what turned out to be the lowest scoring Super Bowl in history.

Indeed, the Rams have struggled at times on offense in recent seasons, although the addition of quarterback Matthew Stafford seems to have helped to inject some explosiveness.

It remains to be seen whether the addition of Beckham will help or hinder the chances that the Rams could make a deep run in the NFC playoffs. As I mentioned in yesterday's blog entry, Beckham reminds me a lot of other wide receivers who are undeniably talented, yet who seem to actually get in the way of their teams pursuit of championships, most notably Terrell Owens. Beckham certainly has the talent to help the Rams, but the question is whether or not he possesses the maturity to do so.

Time will tell.
