PSG got a victory over Bordeaux on Saturday in Ligue 1 action. This time, the Parisians got off to a fairly quick start, building up a 2-0 lead by the half, and then adding another in the second half, before Bordeaux finally got on the scoreboard.
The scoring began with Neymar, who scored the first of his two goals in the 26th minute. He would score again in the 43rd minute, giving PSG a fairly comfortable two goal lead by halftime, as they owned all of the momentum at that point.
Then, superstar Kylian Mbappé broke through with a goal of his own in the 63rd minute. Suddenly, PSG had built up a 3-0 lead.
It was at that point that Bordeaux finally broke through, as Alberth Elis notched a goal in the 78th minute, giving Bordeaux a spark of hope late in the game.
They actually scored again in the second minute of extra time off the foot of M'Baye Niang, which gave the game the final score of 3-2. It was not really as close as the score would indicate, though.
With so little time left, PSG managed to hold Bordeaux off to notch another important win in Ligue 1 play. They have earned 34 points in 13 games played, which keeps them well ahead of everybody else. The second place team, Lens, which has earned 24 points in 13 games played, and thus fully 10 points behind PSG at this point. Nice and Marseille are tied for third, each with 23 points after 13 games played.
