🏈 NFL 2021-22 Week 11 MNF Review: Giants Get Blown Out in Tampa 🏈

🏈🏈🏈🏈

Tampa Bay 30, NY Giants 10

This was pretty much what most would have expected from this game, was it not? Certainly, it did not feel like there were any major surprises in this one. The game went exactly as most people would have expected, with neither team really exceeding or disappointing expectations.

Tampa Bay, the defending Super Bowl champions, convincingly beat the Giants last night. They held onto the ball for over 35 minutes and picked up 402 yards and 28 first downs on offense, compared to just 215 yards and 15 first downs for the G-Men.

The Bucs raced off to an early lead with an 8-play, 73 yard drive that culminated with a 13-yard touchdown pass from tom Brady to Chris Godwin. Yet, the Giants stayed in it and managed to tie the game at 10-10 midway through the second quarter.

However, the game was all Tampa Bay from that point on. They scored a touchdown late in the second quarter to go up again, and took that 17-10 lead into locker room for halftime.

Then in the second half, the Bucs defense shut out Big Blue. Meanwhile, the Bucs O began to methodically put the game out of reach, beginning with another monster drive of 10 plays and 74 yards that culminated in a 5-yard TD pass from Brady to Mike Evans. Tampa Bay was then up, 24-10, and the Giants never threatened again.

The Bucs added some field goals for more cushion, but the game was effectively over already.

With the win, the Bucs snap a two game losing streak and improve to 7-3, while remaining a perfect 5-0 at home. They also remain in sole possession of first place in the NFC South, and rank among the elites in the NFC, with a real chance still at taking the top seed in the NFC playoffs.

As for the Giants, they fall to 3-7 on the season, and are just 1-4 on the road. They now are in sole possession of last place in the NFC East, and simply looked terrible on offense again. They lost, but they did wear their “color rush” throwback uniforms, which are similar to the away uniforms that they wore in the salad days of the 1980’s and 1990’s. So at least they looked good while they were losing, eh?

My prediction: Accurate
