New Rule: Apply Precision to the Pandemic | Real Time (HBO)

I do not always agree with Bill Maher. But after running into this particular video clip about a week or so ago, it seemed like something that certainly would be worth sharing here on this blog.

The main thing that grabbed me was the very first thing that he said. It does indeed seem like what we Americans do best and with the most precision and efficiency has to do with literally attacking and destroying things in faraway places. It seems that our particular preference in recent decades is with predominately Muslim countries, although in the past, we also have done similar attacks in Europe and in Far Eastern Asia.

In any case, I agree with Maher here on this point. Attacking other countries and destroying seems to be our specialty. There always seems to be enough money for war and weapons here, even though debates are fierce for anything else to have an impact on the budget or national debt. The outrageously inflated military budget has long reflected this particularly American obsession. Then, we turn around and with a straight face, claim to be a peace-loving nation. And we are surprised when so many around the world view us as hypocrites and/or hate us.

Anyway, take a look at the video, and see if you agree, as I did.
