Anniversary of Pearl Jam's SNL Performance in New York in Spring of 1994

There is no other band that I have seen more than Pearl Jam. While I have admittedly cooled on them quite a bit in recent years, there was a time when I was quite obsessed with them. Most likely, there never was there a time when I was more obsessed with seeing them than I was back in the spring of 1994. At that time, I tried to see them in Boston, at the Paramount Theater in New York, and at Saturday Night Live. It's almost funny that the first ticket stub that I ever got for Pearl Jam was for a show that I did not actually attend.

Still, the ticket stub is where it has been now for over three decades, in the sleeve of the Versus album, which was still relatively new at the time. And their performance during that tour, and on Saturday Night Live, was pretty damn solid. It felt back then, and still feels now, that they were at their absolute peak at that time.

Yesterday marked the 31st anniversary of their appearance on Saturday Night Live. And while I myself never managed to get in to see that show, I still like to watch these clips every now and then. It seemed worth sharing here, so enjoy:
