Weekend Funny: Trump Furious After Nobel Committee Gives Him Participation Trophy

This was one of those spoof headlines which made me crack up as soon as I saw it.

Much like some headlines from The Onion or other comedic "news" sources can do, some headlines from Andy Borowitz almost stand alone without needing to read the entirety of the article. Just the picture of an infuriated Trump after being snubbed and merely receiving a participation trophy by the Nobel Committee just made me break out in laughter.

Funny, because it's almost true.

As soon as I saw this, it felt like something definitely worth sharing here for a good laugh. Particularly on a weekend such as this one.

So here it is, including the link.

Enjoy.

A Little Bit of Chess History

For a long time now, I have loved the game of chess.

Yet, I do not really talk about it much here on this blog, do I? At least, there have been relatively few blog entries which directly talk about it.

Earlier, however, I ran into this Facebook post. It was fascinating, and illustrated a little bit of history pertaining to chess which I simply had not know before. And it seemed like something worth sharing here, as well.

It's funny, because while I have long played the game - probably since around the age of seven or so, but perhaps earlier - I have grown familiar and better with the actual game over time. Also, I was always interested in learning more about the actual history, how the game developed, but still admittedly know precious little of the actual history. It's just not something which I ever seriously pursued for some reason.

The Tallest Mountain in the World From Top to Bottom Is Not Everest, But Rather Mauna Kea in Hawaii

Strange, but I was just thinking of this the other day.

There is a mountain in Hawaii which is quite tall to the naked eye. Yet, it is much taller even than it seems, because the bulk of it is actually underwater.

Take a look at the article linked below:
