There have been plenty of blog entries where I have spoken of climate change/global warming, on some level or another. This summer, there have been a number focusing on multiple serious heat waves in both North America and Europe. In the past, I have also mentioned other heat waves across the globe, including in the Arctic regions, in Asia and especially China, on the Arabian peninsula, and in Australia.
Yet, it seems to me that you rarely hear about South America when it comes to climate change, with the notable major exception, of course, of the destruction of the Amazon rain forest. That, of course, has been one of the major contributors to human induced climate change.
Well, here is one exception.
Below is an article which focuses on the rapidly disappearing glacier in Patagonia, in southern Argentina. It used to be quite massive, and was also a famous natural landmark, a 18-mile long glacier. Now, however, seems to be losing serious amounts of ice to global warming.
