More news regarding Trump's supposedly sinking job approval poll numbers.
Seems to me that the headlines showing Trump's plummeting poll numbers have been consistently showing up for many months now.
Also seems to me that, quite frankly, his approval numbers should, by all rights, be much lower. Given that he really has not kept even one of his major campaign promises - lowering the price of groceries, lowering the price of gas, releasing the Epstein Files, no more wars (especially in the Middle East) - and given how the international reputation of the United States has seemingly sunk to previously unknown depths the world over, yes, Trump's poll numbers here should be much, much lower.
Frankly, they should be in the lower 20's, if not the teens by this point. The more evidence of his links to Epstein, the more he pushes back against his own promise to release the files, the more lies and deception, the more invasions and wars he launches and threatens, and it really should only be the die hard supporters who still back him.
Yet, his approval ratings are in the lower forties.
Not great for a more conventional politician. But with someone like Trump, that MAGA base really has been an unbelievably consistent and useful tool in his back pocket.
And he still has it.
Besides, what do poll numbers really matter at this point in time? He's back in office, and we are well over a year into his second term. Everything has been bad - this is even worse than my own low expectations, admittedly - yet enough Americans give him a pass that he still has frankly undeserved sway and power.
Then we wonder why most of the world has grown to think of Americans as stupid and stubborn?
