More fallout for President Trump after his insane social media post
Some criticisms were from predictable sources. I saw condemnation from Alexandra Ocasio-Cortes and Bernie Sanders.
No real surprises there, though, right?
There was criticism from Pete Buttigieg and Gavin Newsom.
Again, not exactly a shock there, either.
The pope (who is American) condemned Trump's actions.
Now, that is a bit more interesting.
But the most interesting to me came from unexpected sources. Specifically, from prominent members (or at least former members) of MAGA nation itself.
Just in case you have been living in a cave and have not yet heard, Trump (who whined about not having received the Nobel Peace Prize just months ago) threatened to wipe out an entire country, saying that a "whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again." He then suggested that this night (a couple of nights ago as I write this) will be "one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World."

Trump also made international headlines with a previous post which, if anything, seemed even more unhinged. And he posted it on Easter Sunday, of all days.
That's right. What is supposed to be a religious holiday for Christians instead saw the American president talking indirectly to the "crazy bastards" in Iran, threaten that country will "be living in Hell" if they don't "Open the Fuckin' Strait." All of the words in quotes were his words, specifically.

All of that proved, finally, to be a bit too much, even for some MAGA members. For the first time, we are seeing more than just token or symbolic criticism, but actual calls for his immediate removal. Alex Jones said that this was the "definition of genocide" and asked how we Americans "can 25th Amendment his ass." Marjorie Taylor Greene joined House Democrats in calling for the 25th Amendment to be invoked so that Trump can be removed from office. And Tucker Carlson went a step further, suggesting (or seeming to suggest) that Trump was the anti-Christ.
Again, not your typical criticism from the usual suspects.
Finally, finally, finally, it seems that there are limits to even what Trump can get away with.
All it took is for him to threated a mass genocide and wiping out an entire ancient civilization forever, which could all too easily have escalated to World War III and a real apocalypse.
