For a long time, some people have tried to warn our modern society that we were not ready for something this big, like the coronavirus.
Now that it is upon us, it sure seems like they were right, and it feels like the truth: we really were not ready. Like, at all.
Chances seem good that we will get past this, even if it is difficult. This is unlike anything that the vast majority of us have ever gone through before.
But there are lessons to be learned from this thing, which likely could have been far better contained with more responsible, capable leadership. And now that it has happened, we need to learn from it, understand that it not only might, but likely will happen again (and probably in almost all of our lifetimes, as well) and next time be a lot more prepared for it.
After all, it not so much a question of if, but when.

I am not the biggest fan of multi-billionaires generally, and that includes Gates. That said, however, he was spot on here:
