Strange to go from very rarely doing any of these "breaking news" blog entries to two within a couple of days of one another. But these are days when the news seems to be breaking incredibly quickly.
The news today is both astonishing and, paradoxically, incredible: Trump has been impeached again. He becomes the first president in American history to be impeached twice, as he was also impeached by the House of Representatives earlier this year.
The vote this time was 232 to 197 in favor of impeachment. There were also 10 Republicans who voted in favor of impeachment, which surprisingly, makes this the most bipartisan impeachment vote in American history.
Impeachment consideration will now go to the Senate. And while it still seems unlikely that Trump will actually be removed from office with less than a week left in his term, there is a greater chance - a much greater chance - that Trump could face impeachment by the Senate, as Mitch McConnell has expressed a favorable view, apparently, of impeachment.
Still, it feels like something that I will fully believe only when I see it. We shall see what happens. But the worst president in American history has yet another major blemish under his belt to tarnish his poor excuse for a legacy.
Let us hope this time that he is also impeached by the Senate.
