Recently, King Con Don was asked about whether a president needed to uphold the Constitution.
Even after having sworn an oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" both times that he became president, Trump still answered "I don't know."
That is about the only time that I can personally remember Trump ever showing uncertainty about a question. Usually, he wants to show strength and certainty, that he knows. So either his uncertain, ambiguous response shows that he truly does not know, or he is once again sending a warning that he might just attack the Constitution in order to grab more power for himself.
Remember, Trump once posted on his Truth Social how he believed that parts of the Constitution might just need to be suspended. That was in 2022. And he seems to have made every effort to not let the law - or the Constitution more generally - hold him back from his desired goals, which of course always means more power for himself.
As many have been warning, this guy is bad news. His presidency sure seems like an existential threat to American democracy, to legitimate rule of law at the very top, and to respect for, and defense of, the Constitution and our way of life. He views these kinds of things as a game, and claims that he likes toying with the "Fake News" mainstream media, which he has also repeatedly referred to as the "enemy of the people."
Yes, it's all a game to this privileged man-child. He never had to really grow up in a way that pretty much everyone else grew up. He was born into enormous wealth and privileges, and never knew a life without those. We all know that he has been a masterful scam artist throughout his entire life. Yet I still am amazed and shocked, frankly, that he managed to convince so many people that he is actually the champion of common, middle class Americans. That he understands and cares deeply about them, even though he has never shown any real indications of that at any point in time. To me, convincing enough people of this that he was elected to be the voice and the face of the country - twice - represents his masterstroke con. He pulled the wool over just enough people to be elected, and has tirelessly worked to increase his own privileges - as well as the ultrawealthy - at the expense of working class Americans, and to relentlessly disgrace the country that he has been elected to lead.
What a horrible time we live in.
