Eternal Flame

 
 


Having already posted something about a couple of points of interest in Orchard Park, New York, earlier, it seemed amazing to me that there would be something else that was truly unique in this town, something that you will not likely see anywhere else.

Prior to this trip, the main thing that I knew about Orchard Park was that it has the stadium where the NFL's Buffalo Bills play their home games. That meant that it was a suburb of Buffalo, and that it was obviously part of this region.

In fact, though, Orchard Park has a surprising amount to offer an unsuspecting visitor. That included the botanical gardens, as well as the nearby Our Lady of Victory Basilica, which is a truly beautiful church.

This was another site that has something impressive and quite beautiful, as well.

The Eternal Flame Falls is set within woods in Orchard Park. It is tucked into a cliff with a waterfall flowing down, but there is a grotto that releases natural gas. So someone decided to set a flame to it, and it keeps on burning forever. Hence, the name Eternal Flame Falls.
