Washington’s NFL Franchise Will Go With Generic Name For the Upcoming 2020 Season

The name change for the Washington NFL franchise came rather late in the off-season for the team to adequately be able to do much of anything to outright change names and logos before the upcoming season kicks off.

That said, it seems strange to think that the team will be identified this coming season as…..(drum roll, please)…. the Washington Football Team.

Yup, that is indeed what they will be known as. Very vanilla.

Just kind of has a ring to it, does it not?

However, the franchise will continue to wear uniforms similar to those that they wore last season, with maroon helmets and home jerseys, with white pants, and with maroon pants to go with their white away uniforms. The “W” standing for Washington is the makeshift logo for now, and it has a slight alteration to an otherwise plain appearance.

At least the team representing the nation’s capital city will no longer hold the dubious distinction of having nicknames that are, in fact, a racial slur.

That is, of course, if there even is an NFL season. Right now, baseball is having a difficult time trying to complete their season, as fully two games were cancelled yesterday because two teams got hit particularly hard. So two games wound up being cancelled, which was reminiscent of the professional sports games in various leagues, both in North America and in Europe, getting cancelled earlier this year because of the fast spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Let’s see what happens.
