One thing that was pretty exciting for me in sports this year was the rise of the NCAA Men’s basketball team for my alma mater, Rutgers University. While the women enjoyed some serious success some years ago (they have unfortunately faded a bit from the spotlight since), the men really had remained in the background for pretty much as long as I could remember.
That, however, is no longer the case. Yes, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights pulled off a major win, pulling off an improbable upset over the favored Clemson Tigers, 60-56.
This marked the first tournament win for the Rutgers Men's Basketball team in 38 years. nearly four decades since the last time that they managed to pull off a win as big as this one.
