⚽️ ⚽️ PSG Crushes Reims ⚽️ ⚽️

       ⚽️ ⚽️ Paris Saint-Germain ⚽️  ⚽️

Paris Saint-Germain

PSG easily dispatched with Reims yesterday, ultimately earning a very convincing 4-0 win for the home crowd at Le Parc des Princes.

It took a while for PSG to get going with the scoring, however. After a scoreless draw until late in the first half, Italian central midfielder Marco Verratti finally gave the Pariians their first goal, and their first lead of the game in the 44th minute. They kept the 1-0 lead as the two teams retreated for halftime.

That opened up the floodgates, however. PSG would score again in the 62nd minute, when Sergio Ramos of Spain broke through, providing the home team with some extra cushion.  Just minutes later, it grew even worse for Remmes, as Belgian Wout Faes accidentally scored an Own Goal in the 67th minute. PSG was leading 3-0 by this time, and time was obviously running thin.

Danilo Pereira broke through in the 75th minute with the last goal of the match, providing the final score of 4-0 for the match.

Obviously, a very convincing victory for PSG, as they continue to sit comfortably atop the Ligue 1 standings. They have accumulated 53 points after 22 matches played, and enjoy a goal differential of 28, far and away the most of anyone in Ligue 1. In second place is red hot Nice, who have won their last five games, and have accumulated 42 points after 22 matched. Marseille remains in third place with 40 points after 21 matches. Strasbourg is in fourth place with 35 points in 22 games, and Rennes and Montpelier are tied for fifth.

PSG will next be in action against Nice a week from today, for the Round of 16 in the French Cup.
