First Glimpse of the Mediterranean

I had never before seen the Mediterranean Sea before this trip. Strange on some level, since I flew over it twice last year, on the way to and from South Africa. 

Yesterday,  however, that changed. 

My personal first glimpse of the Mediterranean was actually from the Gaudi house in the Park Guell in Barcelona. However, that was from a distance. 

Then we caught several glimpses during our drive from Barcelona to Beziers, where our hotel is located. 

Below are a couple of pictures of the Mediterranean, with some palm trees. That seemed appropriate enough. These were actually taken on the side of a rest stop off the side of a highway (the A-9) somewhere in southern France. Seemed worth sharing.
